After months of political pressure and publicity surrounding the Legal Action challenge, the Western Australian Parliament agreed to send the Firearms Act 2024 to a review on 28th May 2025.
Promising to send the laws to a review during his re-election campaign, the Hon. Nick Goiran MLC successfully secured enough votes in the Legislative Council to refer the gun laws to the Committee on Legislation.
Following the announcement that the Parliament would review the laws, the Legal Action team served another legal letter to the Police Commissioner and Police Minister, calling for a ceasefire on any precipitous action while the review takes place.
Lady Liberty Australia has written a submission to the review and encouraged all Western Australian citizens to participate in the democratic process and send in a submission outlining our issues with the new laws.
She has also offered to appear before the Committee to speak for the people.
